Experiencing NYFW for the first time last year was incredible, but unfortunately I had to cut my trip early and didn’t catch all the shows I had planned to see. When I received my invitations this season, not even the fact that I’m 21 weeks pregnant could stop me from attending!

Getting ready for fashion week takes a lot of preparation! I’ll lay out a bunch of different looks and try to keep everything as organized as possible to avoid over packing. With the additional challenge of figuring how to dress my growing baby bump, I had to hit the shops!

Look #1 : BCBG Jacket, vintage YSL scarf, Nili Notan pants from TNT, Mackage purse,

Isabel Marant boots, Top Shop fingerless gloves

First, I went to TNT where Jordan helped me find some runway-worthy OOTDs. I fell in love with a curve hugging LBD by Acne, a super comfy pair of Nili Lotan drop-crotch pants, and a great Elizabeth and James dress. Then it was straight to BCBG to find the perfect outfit to wear to their AW16 show! I stumbled onto a fantastic dress with feathers, then a cute coat, a fun fur vest, and finished the look with a hat, neck warmer, and heels.

Look #2: Elizabeth & James dress, Iro jacket, Stuart Weitzman High knee boots, M2Malletier bag

After finding a few more new dresses and accessories, I went back to my closet to mix, match, and pull everything together. I figured you can’t go wrong with Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots and packed up my fave M2Malletier bag, as well as a colorful Chloé purse that matches my new teal BCBG fur vest perfectly. With all my outfits planned, it was time to head to the airport and make my way to the Big Apple!

I booked a suite at the W Times Square since it’s perfectly located and I’ve always been a huge fan of the chain. Aside from being ultra modern and luxurious, W hotels are always the place to be and the service is impeccable!

Look #3: BCBG dress & shoes, Zara jacket, M2Malletier Bag

On day one, I woke up bright and early to make it to the BCBG runway show over at The Arc at Moynihan Station. One of the best parts of fashion week is looking at the crowd and seeing what the industrie's finest decided to wear for the big day. Running into familiar faces like the Beckerman twins from Toronto @beckermanblog, Amer Fillerup Clark @amberfillerup, and other people from the scene is always fun and everyone looked amazing!

As soon as the lights dimmed and the show began, I was in awe of the new collection! Music by the legendary David Bowie blared as the models strutted down the catwalk in uniquely layered silhouettes. I fell in love with all the intricate knits, shimmering tops and cutout leggings. I couldn't get enough of the quilted leather looks and the rich blue, orange, and brown 70’s inspired pieces. Take a look at a few of my favorite outfits from the show!

On day two, I went uptown to scope out some of my favorite stores in the city. You can’t visit NYC without heading to Barneys and Bergdorf Goodman! Something about shopping in these stores is so magical. I always feel like a princess in a fairy tale and at 50% off, I couldn’t resist snagging a sexy pair of sky-high heels by Charlotte Olympia.

Once my shopping spree subsided, I went to Kayser to have a delicious lunch and some pastries. It’s one of my favorite bakeries in the city with some real French goodies! It was extra special to dine there as I had the pleasure of meeting the super talented owner, Eric Kayser, a few years ago during my bakery years. With a raspberry tart in one hand and my much needed leather Mackage jacket in the other, I headed to Rockefeller Center ice rink to people watch and take in the beautiful scene. I’m in love with New York and always have a blast just walking around, admiring the architecture.

Back Stage at Herve Leger by Max azria

On day three, I made my way to watch the Hervé Léger by Max Azria AW2016 runway show. The collection was outstanding and the attention to detail was beyond anything I’ve ever seen! The printed and textured bodycon dresses, some of which were bedazzled with safety pins, studs, and fringe, are super modern and elegant. I loved all the chain accents, tweed, and black patent leather lace-up boots! Here are a few of my fave looks from the show!

On my last day, I really started to miss my little ones, but before heading home, I stopped by the Flatiron district to get in some last minute shopping at one of my top five stores, Opening Ceremony. They carry one of my favorite jewelry lines, Delfina Delettrez, so I grabbed some pieces before heading to Otte in Tribeca. Here you can find an amazing selection of designer clothes, bag, and shoes!

Finally, after four fun and fashion-filled days, it was time to head back to Montreal and resume mommy duties! I had a fantastic time at NYFW, was blown away by all the shows, and already can’t wait to come back next season!
