The holidays are a fantastic opportunity to lay low with loved ones, eat your favourite comfort foods, and just relax and recharge for the new year. One of the things I also love the most about the holidays is fabulous outfits! Dinners and parties, and soon New Year’s Eve – so many events to throw an together outfit for.
I shop local as much as possible. I love walking into a store and having the chance to feel the fabrics and textures and pull out pieces and trying them on. I get the appeal of online shopping and like all of you, I love getting packages (it’s like Christmas every time the mail person rings the bell!), but some retailers are worth the drive. TNT is one of them. A staple in my go-to shopping rotation, TNT has been around since 1992 and currently has 5 locations nationwide (and Australia!). Such a fashion-forward boutique with a highly curated selection of some of the best designers – I find their clothes to be so easy to style and whenever I’m wearing a piece from TNT, I always get a compliment.
I pulled some outfits to inspire your holiday looks. Here are 5 great options for the holiday season.
I am obsessed with this little black dress. I find it to be such a versatile pick – great for any season because of the ¾ sleeves, low neck line, and over-the-knee length hemline, you can throw a jean jacket over it for vacation dinner vibes, or you can wear it like me and slip on a high pair of YSL pumps. This Zimmermann dress has little eyelets all over and goes almost completely transparent toward the mid-section; it’s super sexy and very playful.
This is such a simple look and goes great for any event. A loose trouser that falls perfectly to accentuate your form paired with an asymmetrical one-shoulder blouse – easy, right? What makes this outfit pop are the colours and details. I put together this Hellessy mustard yellow top (it’s super on trend right now but even if it weren’t, it’s one of my favourite colours and goes great with blond hair), with these Nude red-piped trouser. The two colours add a nice effect to a simple blouse and trouser look.
I am over the moon that Black Suede Studio came out with these flats – they are so slick and chic but also extremely comfortable. I find the sparkle effect of this outfit makes it fancy and party-possible, but it’s also a super laid back look for an at-home event. Whenever I wear all black, I give the illusion that my frame is longer and leaner, and add a sophistication to an otherwise casual look. I paired my L’Agence camisole with a tone-on-tone Smythe blazer. My Nili Lotan leather pants are hemmed to the perfect length, hitting my right above the ankle. Shimmer and shiny, I mixed striped patterns with polka-dots leather fabrics with textured shoes… taking black-on-black to another level.
Want to talk about pattern? This dress perfected floral with a robust orange, green, and white all-over print. A loose long sleeve with an elastic wrist makes it look tailored to fit any frame. I love the fit also – tight just around the mid-section and hips to hug and flatter the frame, I love this Veronica Beard dress paired with a two-toned Balmain pump in metallic and black. Picking up on prints and solids and adding a personal touch to make it your own, I’d wear this to a cocktail party just so I don’t have to sit – showing off the dress as much as possible! LOL!
What’s black and mesh and velvet all over? This form-fitting, one-of-a-kind Ronny Kobo dress! Puffed sleeves, sheer and patterned details, and the most fantastic heart-shaped bust line. A classic Black Suede Studio pump and very few accessories, this dress doesn’t need much in terms of outfitting – just throw it on and you’re ready to party! I kept my hair down with this dress, but I really think a nice ponytail or top knot could add the perfect finishing touch for this look!
The New Trend Fashion (aka TNT) has a huge selection of showstoppers to choose from and an amazing team of super stylish staff to help you find that perfect outfit for any event.
Happy shopping and Happy Holidays everyone!
