Magnolia
Montreal is in Bloom! Everywhere you look is green, lush and exploding with color and life. I just love spring and sumer is just around the corner!
My favorite tree of all is the Magnolia, often the first in the city to blossom. I love them since I was a little girl, and I’m not really sure what it is about this particular tree that makes me so happy, but I smile every time I see one.
They stand tall and proud and their branches are heavy with full, delicate white and pink flower. So feminine, so delicate, and they smell heavenly.
They are my personal symbol of spring and they remind me how truly inspiring nature is, how majestic and grand the most simple things are. They give me a sense of zen, of peace, and a real appreciation for beauty like no man-made thing can. Glorious.

For the warmer weather (we’ve had some really hot days this past week!) I love to wear my flowered kimono which is a must have staple of the season.
They are everywhere, from Forever21 to Alexander Wang; I got mine at H&M last year for next to nothing, and I love it because the Japanese inspired print reminds me of my favorite season and my favorite tree.
