10 Minute Make Up Routine

Kiss & Make up

Although I enjoy getting all glammed up every now and again, I’ve always been pretty low maintenance when it comes to my daily beauty routine. As a mom, I’m always on the go and only have about ten minutes to get polished for the day! I get tons of questions about my products and makeup essentials ever since I started the blog, but the truth is I do it all myself, even for photo-shoots! I’ve always liked to keep my face looking natural and effortless, so here’s the insider scoop on my 10-minute routine!

The key to glowing skin is great moisturizer, so I lather my face and neck in Neutrogena Hydra Boost gel cream. In the winter, I’ll mix it with a few drops of Clarins Radiance-plus Golden Glow booster, a great custom self-tanner for a little extra color. I’ll finish up with some Dermalogica Ultra Calming Redness Relief Primer to even out my skin tone.

Since I have a lot of freckles, I barely ever wear any foundation. It’s way too much coverage and ends up feeling like a mask. Instead, I use Lancôme Long Lasting Under Eye Concealer to cover dark circles, and dust some Lancôme Dual Finish Versatile Powder (Matte Amandell) over my skin to conceal any imperfections. Then I apply a silky smooth powder bronzer by Rimmel London (003 Sun Queen) for an effortless sun-kissed glow. I dabble some Clinique Up-Lighting Liquid Illuminator on my eyelids, tear ducts, and cheekbones to create a dewy, natural look. To shape and fill in my brows, I’ll use ArtDeco Eyebrow Designer (#7), and Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel (Light/Medium).

Depending on my mood or the occasion, the rest of my routine varies. For some added definition, I love to contour using the 3 well blush by Ritual. Some of my favorite blushes are called Melba, Blusbaby, and Clove by MAC. On my eyes, I’ll use light, shimmery shadows like Naked Lunch or All Glitters by MAC. Some everyday lip-glosses that I love are Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip protector (#03) or Jouviance Gloss (#06 Bise). In terms of lip pencils, I can’t get enough of Mac PatentPolish Lip pencils in Revved Up, Clever, and Ruby.

If I have meetings all day, I’ll often go for a smokey eye with a neutral lip. I line the top and bottom of my lids with a brownish bronze tone, Ink It by Covergirl (#270 Copper Ink). Then I apply Jouviance Eye Pencil in black on the inner rims of my eyes for a little depth. I finish the look with two coats of Lancôme Hypnôse Drama on my top lashes, and Clinique on my lower lashes. For the perfect pale lip, I use MAC lip pencil in Subculture and top it with Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick (#54 Boy). For an extra pouty effect, I’ll add a coat of Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Collagen Activ (D001).

If I’m attending an event, I’ll mix a cat-eye with a bold lip. To create a winged look, I use Lancôme Artliner (Black) on my upper eyelids. Then I line my lips in Chanel Precision Lip Definer in Fuschia and top them with YSL lipstick in Rouge Volupte. There’s nothing more chic than a dramatic pout!

I’ll never leave the house without some Art Deco Oil Control to blot away excess oil, along with some Glo-Minerals Perfecting Powder to freshen up my face. It really only takes 10 minutes to pull together an effortlessly chic look! Have fun with colors, experiment with different products, and build a routine that works with your skin, style, and schedule! You’d be surprised at how perked up you can feel just by finding the perfect cream, gloss, or mascara!
