I am very excited to be participating in the Auto Moda Fashion Show Fundraiser benefitting the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Jewish General Hospital.

The Fashion Show will be held on, Wednesday September 17, 2014 at La Ruelle des fortifications, World Trade Centre Montréal. Please join as of 6:30 pm for our second edition of AUTO MODA, an evening where luxury cars provided by Decarie Motors and fashion trends from Europa Boutique will unite and where we will specially honour Dr. Apostolos Papageorgiou’s 40th Anniversary as the NICU Chief of Pediatrics and Neonatology at the JGH.

You and your guests will enjoy a night of networking, fun entertainment and a glamorous fashion show. Hosts this year are CTV's Tarah Schwartz and Stéphane Giroux.

To contribute to this cause, you can purchase tickets on line or at the door. The tickets cost $125 and included in the price of the ticket is a gourmet cocktail dînatoire, a wine bar, fashion show and party to follow.

This year, the hospital hopes to raise enough money, through this event, to purchase a highly specialized incubator called the Giraffe Incubator. The Giraffe Incubator is known to promote the growth and stability of newborns through exceptional thermal performance, innovative design, controlled heat, humidity, oxygen, light and noise all the while providing a comfortable, easy to access environment to caregivers and parents.

For 40 years, the NICU at the JGH has been designated a high- risk perinatal referral center by the Quebec government, providing highly specialized services for mothers and premature babies from across the province. The Unit has been able to maintain the best provincial newborn survival rate record, including holding the record for the smallest newborn ever to survive, weighing only 375 g (0.827 lb) at birth.

To continue improving the quality of care and services provided, the Unit has been relocated to Pavilion K, a new wing of the JGH, where it has a new birthing centre with double the amount of beds dedicated to high-risk pregnancies.
