L'Gros Luxe
L’Gros Luxe is probably most known for their mason jar cocktails garnished with mini burgers, grilled cheese, quesadillas, and/or onion rings. Their fun and affordable menu made it an immediate hit in Montreal. With locations in the Plateau, Mile End, and Vieux Longueuil, they recently celebrated the newest locale in the ever-trendy Sud-Ouest (2472 Notre-Dame Ouest).
The Sud-Ouest eatery is tailored to local clientele, both in food & beverages as well as design. They specialize in offering ample vegetarian options, without neglecting the carnivores. The indoor dining space is huge but their signature cozy ambiance remains. There is a terrace to enjoy during the summer, a bright solarium, and a private room for events.
The brain behind this fab restaurant chain is the great Alexandre Bastide. This passionate young entrepreneur previously founded Underworld, a retail boutique, and owned a concert venue, Cabaret World. He is responsible for every single aspect of the restaurant; he even handpicks every art piece and decorative item that hangs in each of the four locations. Alex is incredibly inspirational and meeting people like this is one of the best parts of my job!
Another thing that I love about this spot is the super fun kids menu. As a mommy, I can really appreciate the Petit Luxe, a selection of mini pizzas, grilled cheese and chicken fingers catered to little ones. My girls beg me to bring them there for dinner or even brunch!
For the second year in a row, L’Gros Luxe is offering a different grilled cheese everyday for the entire month of November. I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek of the variety at a tasting this week. The line-up includes mouth-watering creations like the prosciutto and date jam, sweet potato curry poutine, Korean pork belly and many more!
