Teaology: An Herbal Skin Care Line

I love a natural skincare lines as much as anyone, but some brands think of such whacky ways to include natural elements that it just seems so funnelled down and counterintuitive. But then there are the few who think of something so simple, so obvious, I’m kind of left thinkin “huh, where has this been all my life?” That’s kind of how I felt about Teaology when it first hit the skin care scene. Tea infusions have been used for a plethora of purposes for centuries, from medicinal and calming to scents and summer drink mixers. They taste wonderful, smell delicious and are jam-packed with anti-oxidants. Although many skincare companies have been infusing their products with tea for a long time, no brand is quite like Teaology in that all of their products have tea as their base.
I tried a whole bunch of them and have been using some intermittently mixed in with some of my other favourite products. I love that they are high performance, nourishing, anti-aging (yes, please!) and completely free of chemical agents such as parabens, paraffin, SLS, SLES, formaldehyde donors (not approved in Canada anyway), and artificial colours. I feel safe applying their products and the fragrances are so rich that it’s a pleasure to indulge in a little tea treat every once and a while.
Here are my top 5 favourite products from their line:
It’s kind of incredible how much nature really has to offer. From the naturally derived extracts of plants, we can firm up our skin. Matcha for everyone! The Matcha Tea Ultra-Firming Face Cream helps rebuild the density in your skin, lifting and instantly firming up your skin. The cream is naturally green because… matcha. The texture has a smoothing agent and so when applying you’ve got to rub it in circular motion for the best effect.
A seriously revitalizing infusion for the face and neck – according to Teaology, the White Tea Miracle Drops is their beauty elixir, which brings to mind like a little witch hovering over a cauldron brewing the antidote for mortal skin bringing ageless skin to all. Ok, fine, maybe that’s overkill, but an elixir is kind of like a potion, so sign me up! I’m always ready and willing to try just about anything. I’m not an adrenaline junkie, but I do love to try new things – so a white tea infusion that acts as a formula for anti-aging skin? I mean seriously, why the heck not!?
What do rice, bamboo and green tea extracts all have in common? Well, put them all together and you have a powerful Matcha Pore Cleansing Stick that exfoliates, purifies, and perfects the skin. It’s a soft scrub that helps free the pores from impurities and dead skin. It’s safe, it’s natural, and it’s in a stick, so that’s kind of fun. It’s actually super powerful and concentrated, so I use it sporadically, but when I do, I always leave it on for a bit before I wash it off with warm water.
An exfoliating butter-cream made from real tea to gently remove dead skin… kind of magical. I mean, I’ve been to the dead sea, so I know what a little salt water can do, but I’m always so impressed when I learn the properties of natural everyday products found all around us. The Green Tea Detox Face Scrub minimizes pores, detoxes the skin, and gives that all over glow. I love the brightening effects and I feel cleaner when I’m done washing up. I try not to overuse the face scrub, maybe just twice a week max.
First cold-pressed to bring out the moisturizing and brightening properties, the Bancha Green Tea Oil that’s used in this beauty oil is non-greasy and super absorbent. It’s meant for the body, face and hair, but after using it in my hair once, I was hooked. I also loved dropping a little sprinkle into the tub; my skin was radiant and glowing afterward. I felt softer and I think come winter, I’ll probably make it a routine to help fight against how dry our skin gets from the weather.
I know I saw it all the time, I’m a product junkie! But you would be too if part of your job was to try out new things and help disseminate info to likeminded people – people like you who love taking care of their skin, spend time on their skincare routines, and believe in a great beauty regimen to help enhance what their mama gave them. The Teaology line is impeccable. They not only have great infusion made with natural extracts from teas, matcha, and bamboo, but they also have great products that target some of the aspects of skincare I prioritize, like scrubs, facial cleanser, and oils. Also, their packaging is kind of sexy – lol!
