There are probably about 1000 perfumes that are put out every year. Yea, I said it, about 1000, and probably more. So how can you sift through the noise and actually find the scent that was made just for you? Maison Margiela combined the skillful art of naming a product with the memory each of these fragrances evokes to help us find the right smell. I am obsessed with their formula, I just find it so precise in that a beach walk is exactly what I want to remember and feel or perhaps I want to be enveloped by a bubble bath – and so all I have to do is search by activity and I will be transported in space. Here are my absolute favourites, but trust me, it was very hard to narrow it down to just 5!

Accurately named Whispers in the Library, this REPLICA eau de toilette brings out all those warm and woodsy smells you’d get from walking into an old school library (remember those!?) Peppered with notes of that warm cedar and sweet vanilla, this scent truly makes you want to slow down and cozy up on that large leather chair with a page-turning book.
