Whenever I think I’m alone in my worries about wrinkles, fine lines and other aging tells, I consider the fact that there is an entire industry out there, a giant mammoth mother of an industry working tirelessly to innovate and develop formulas that will help reduce the signs of visibly aging in the healthiest and safest ways.

I was introduced to Caudalie recently but when I dove into research I was astounded to learn that they’ve been around for the better part of 3 decades. Evolving from integrating grape seeds because they are the most powerful antioxidants to being the first to patent the grape vines naturally produced resveratrol, Caudalie has in fact been at the forefront of science and technology when it comes to beauty and skincare. I was remiss to learn that I was late to the game. But here at last and here to stay, I tried out a bunch of their products and I’m hooked (and inspired, these products photograph stunningly if I do say so myself!).

The Resveratrol-Lift Firming Cashmere Day Cream and Firming Night Cream both work to visibly firm and smooth wrinkles while nourishing and hydrating the skin. So, here is the thing about Reseveratrol-Lift: the Caudalie x Harvard University patent formula has been proven to be 2 times more effective than retinol. It’s packed with that grape vine root, natural hyaluronic acid and vegan collagen alternatives sourced sustainably from African Mahogany Bark. I smoothed it all over both day and night and I felt an intense spa-therapy feeling rush over me. Perhaps it was the cashmere feeling of the cream itself or perhaps it is knowing that these guys (Mathilde and Bertrand) truly know what they’re doing and I just get to luxuriate in the fruits of their labour (all kinds of puns intended!).

Caudalie is a wine terms that refers to the time the wine flavours linger on the palate after tasting – I find that notion so poetic and I felt it come to life when I tried the Resveratrol-Lift Instant Firming Serum as a base before I dabbed on the Eye Firming Gel-Cream. Between the two, I saw visible firming results and overall smoother skin, and with the eye area it was magically de-puffing.

Between the two day creams, there is a slight difference to the touch and feel. I love the Lightweight Firming Cashmere Cream, well, mostly because it’s lightweight! Lol. But, there is a time and place for a heavier cream and I find in the winter months that is the one I will naturally reach for, but the lightweight is great if I know I am in for a full face of make up or in the summer season (or vacation). 

By 2022 the Caudalie commitment is to be 100% recycled or recyclable packaging – it’s a zero waste initiative and it makes me so happy. With even cleaner formulas and even more natural ingredients, Caudalie is going the extra mile to be a brand we can all vouch for. I grabbed a few products directly off their site, but they are available at their owned boutiques, Sephora Canada and even Jean Coutu. Take the recommendation from me, this product line is legit and aside from the fact that it will beautify your bathroom counter (more pink please!), their formula works.
