A Look I love: Isabel Marant

I’ve said it once but I’ll say it again, when you find a designer you love—one that fits well, looks good, and stands the test of time—I take to it like a moth to a flame on a warm summer night.

Isabel Marant is one of those designers for me. From her logo sweaters and iconic boots to her highly stylized yet understated ready-to-wear collections, there is not a single piece I wouldn’t love to wear.

When I was at Paris Fashion Week, I hit the Messika event and proudly showed up head-to-toe in Isabel Marant. We have a few boutiques that carry her collections in Montreal, but there is nothing like being in Paris and having a chance to browse the store in person. Touching the fabrics and trying everything on, it was like a day of playing dress up!

Isabel Marant has really made a name for herself in the shoe scene. Between her incredibly fashion-forward and legit winter-cozy boots, I have been known to style several outfits around her Leider boot. For this look, I pulled a stunning knee-high Lomero boot in the most luscious green. Styled with that western flare, I love both the pop of colour it adds and the wow factor. I can’t wait to throw these on over a pair of jeans.

The dress is hands-down one of my favourites. A beautiful satin feel with a tropical paisley print, cinched with a belt and that plunging neckline. I feel like I’m on an island vacation slash also walking a runway every time I wear it (similar dress linked here and here!). I love the way it moves with the wind, especially against the high boot.

Her winter gear is usually where I find some top picks for our longest and dreariest season. I find myself scrolling through her online shop more often than I’d like to admit – but what can I say? When I find a designer I love, I’m all in!
