BA&SH: The Ideal Wardrobe

ba&sh is that brand that has the potential to create dozens of looks. I feel a strong pull to the bohemian chic vibe that so many of their pieces lend to, but the styles their collections create are unlimited.

That’s what I love about ba&sh – from bold and modern energy to feminine boho vibes, that feel-good Parisian style pulsates throughout. So versatile and inspiring, I could spend a day playing dress-up in their Westmount location. So, I did! I pulled together 3 distinct looks that are all me, even though they are all so different.

I was browsing the racks and this skirt caught my eye… how could it not! A maxi skirt (similar linked here) is probably my favourite of all summer pieces. So flowy and free, I just love the way it drapes down to the floor and can be paired with booties in the fall, heels for night looks, and flats for during the day. I coupled it with a button-back sweater (open-back sweater, similar linked here) for a more elevated look, which was perfect for my day out in the Old Port.

I’ve been heavily leaning toward yellow these days. Wait, who am I kidding? I’ve been feeling yellow for a while now and it’s been finding its way into as many outfits as possible. This yellow Jalia Flowing Trouser has a slightly baggy feel and is perfectly cropped above the ankle (yes, even for my petite stature). A matching pure cotton belt to sit high waisted makes a perfect silhouette with a tucked in Gilda Print blouse. The frills and shimmer in the silk and metal threading give off such a luxurious feel to a simple jeans and shirt, wouldn’t you say?

Finally, the Boy Flowing Trouser is probably the most comfortable of all comfy trousers. They have a slight masculine feel, hence the name, and I actually reach for these trousers more often than I originally thought I would. Rolled up with boots or down to the floor for an elongated leg, I paired them with the Woman t-shirt (yes, the binary irony is not lost on me, lol).

ba&sh is celebrating women with the Woman t-shirt as a way to honour our anonymous and discreet heroines. A limited edition tee, Woman was created in partnership with the Woman Safe Institute and boasts the proud motto: "Women are heroines. Every day." All benefits are donated to the Woman Safe & Children Institute.

A brand with some serious value and a strong point of view, Barbara and Sharon (yup, that’s how they got the name ba&sh) have created a one-stop shop for all fashion necessities inspired by their two unique, yet complementary French styles. A place to get you all pieces needed to make up your ideal wardrobe, I sometimes just visit the store to feel the presence of artistry and propelling vision. They’ve been at this for over 15 years, I wonder what the next 15 will bring…
