Rouge G

Here’s a short story every woman knows: Girl has plans. Girl thinks of what she’ll wear. Girl gets dressed. Girl chooses makeup to match the outfit. Girl goes out. Girls slays the day.

Here’s a twist: Girl matches her outfit to her… lipstick case! A small change, I know, but a mighty challenge I could not resist. I absolutely love pairing pieces and finding a playful way for colours, fabrics, and patterns to come together. Add a lipstick case to the mix and I’m basically at La Ronde!

Guerlain launched the most stunning collection of luxurious velvet lipsticks. Fifteen intense shades from browns and reds to pinks and nudes. All signature it shades that no woman can resist. The high pigmentation and mango butter comfort just glide on smoothly for 16 hours of colour.

Strong women tell these stories, strong women create them. It’s what inspired this moment here: her name is Violette, the new Guerlain Makeup Artists Creative Director. A culmination of her 15 years in the industry, Rouge G is her vision, and let me tell you, her inspiration inspires, her creations create. Celebrating the beauty that is you, she pays tribute to the maison of haute couture and brings the beauty out of all of us.

So here’s the thing – I channeled my inner self and called on my idea of what is beautiful. Instead of pairing lip colour with my looks, I matched fashion with fashion. Guerlain Rouge G is colour dressed as art. With Parisian flair and a stunning aesthetic that boasts high fashion, I spent a day pulling looks that called on 3 facets of myself. I played each role and highlighted the lush velvet Rouge G sensorial cases.

The perfect addition to my collection, I went pattern on pattern with my Houndstooth look. A black and white tale we all know so well, this look slipped right in with my day-to-day casual vibe.

With patterns like Houndstooth, tartan, and chevron, Guerlain gives you those classic iconic looks. Throw in some soft and sumptuous red velvet and black velvet, and you’ve got yourself a royal combination. Upcycled cases to complement your wardrobe, I dressed mine up with a Parisian-inspired look (complete with hat) that tells the story of a strong, young woman traipsing along the Champs-Elysées on a beautiful fall day. Something new for my vacation journal.

And then there is the story of a woman pausing, taking her time to hone in her power as she gazes out the window in her lacey, red dress. I play all these roles each time I pull a look, channeling my inner goddess because that is the story I hold dearest to my heart.
