Diptyque Favourites

A house becomes a home when we fill it with memory, life, and meaning. Little mementos and photographs as well as things that feel personal; the things we love. For me, all of the small pockets in my home that are dressed and decorated with familiar scents transport me to the people I love and the moments we shared.

That’s the power of a scented candle. Believe me, the smell of sweet rose or fragrant vanilla honestly has that magical power that can make you feel like you are back on vacation with your mom or hanging your best friend as you lay in the grass idling away on those teenage weekends.

Scented candles can do all of those things (as can perfume, soaps, and other fragrance-infused items). But for me, a candle is more than the smell it carries – it also acts as a stunning display in your home and of course, is the perfect gift.

Diptyque has made my top lists for a long time and with great reason. Their product line – candles and eau de toilette – are so gorgeously packaged that I absolutely love having them on display on a night table, side table, centerpiece, or fireplace.

The Tubereuse Candle has this rich and sensual floral smell that fills a room with its enigmatic scent. With its dancing letters on the paper logo, everyone knows a Diptyque when they see it. The longstanding history of Diptyque presupposes that fragrances are a luxury, a high-end product that brings art and beauty into your life.

The iconic Eau Rose is filled with rose damascene, rose centifiolia, and litchi accord. The perfect gift, this fragrance can sit atop the guest bathroom and act as an ode to Parisian history, bringing style to the space and depth to the air.

If I had to pick a singular candle to line my house with, it would be the Baies candle. Tangy and fresh, it has that blackcurrant aroma with accents of rose. I adore this candle, both look and smell, and so when the oversized Baies Giant came out, I nabbed one with a huge smile on my face.

Handcrafted by French Virebent, the oversized Baies (berry) candle, comes in a deep enamelled terracotta and speckled with real gold. Yes, real gold. You read that right. Perfect for those cold winter nights, this candle will warm a room with its permeating smell and warm glow.

Diptyque means diptych, the art of hanging paintings side by side or two paintings that complete a single series. Named after the boutique’s two large windows, Diptyque has become a household name and with good reason. And did I mention how stunning they are?
