It’s not that hard to make fall come to life when it comes to fashion. Between the wool and cashmere textures and the playful take on autumn colours, fall is probably the easiest season to dress for. If the booties and sweaters aren’t enough to convince you, then think of the layers and jackets… so many fashionable ways to edge up a look.

Mackage released the perfect fall jacket. It’s probably the versatility that gets me most about the Edina, because that blazer look coupled with that warmth makes the essential outer layer. The plaid pattern works so well with a dressed up vibe or a more street look, mostly because it adds a level of sophistication that you can’t get from a jean jacket, which we all know and love during these cooler months.

I’m excited to throw together a more formal feel with the Edina, but for now, that urban look for quarantine will have to do. I coupled my jacket with wide-leg jeans and the Krys hoodie, I have the white-on-white, but Mackage made a limited-edition unisex one with rainbow accents, which I am also obsessed with. To take my city style to another height, Patricia and I hit up one of Montreal’s landmarks for that inimitable backdrop.

Up against this stunning graffiti mural, the Quai des arts is basically a loading dock by trade but an artist’s canvas in essence. The wall created this stunning visual, if I do say so myself. It’s a more recent challenge we’ve incited for our shoots – since we can’t go indoors anywhere, why not find city sites that lend to the artistry of both fashion and photography.

The earthy tones we see during fall carry such depth and richness—whether it’s the Mackage Edina in classic black or trendy yellow mustard—we create looks that reflect the feel and function of our climate. Then add on a layer of lifestyle and we have ample opportunity to showcase ourselves through our fashion. And I don’t know about you, but I’m all about that colourful street look these days, keeping me fresh and cool, but still warm and functional.
