MAISON JACYNTHE

I’m a sucker for a great story about people who find their calling, truly connect to their path, and then follow through full force to create something they love. I think in this day and age, it’s such a privilege to be in a position to take a step back from your profession and change directions toward something that feels more fulfilling.

That’s the story behind Maison Jacynthe. Jacynthe René worked as a successful actress for over 20 years. In such a beautiful pivotal moment, she started to develop all kinds of incredible initiatives that have brought to life an alternative primary school, an only platform dedicated to educating people about a more sustainable and conscious way of life, and of course, as we all know and love, her all natural, locally made, clean beauty line Maison Jacynthe. She has several notable achievements under her bohemian belt, and there is always something to celebrate when it comes to the work she does.

I first tried the Maison Jacynthe line at an event. Aside from her aura, I’d say it was the packaging itself that attracted me. So sophisticated and elegant, I was immediately drawn. But, once the allure and simplicity of the wooden caps fled, what lasted was the essential purity of every single product. Oh, and the smells!

Undiluted and unaltered, the essential oils used are all kept 100% pure. As per the instructions, each product will tell you how long the shelf life is and where it should be kept (for reasons of light sensitivity). Most beauty companies don’t mention expiry dates, and that’s one thing that definitely caught my attention. Was it that Maison Jacynthe was being more transparent than everyone else, or was it simply because her products are so pure and natural, they obviously couldn’t last forever. Well, I’ve had the chance to do the research and ask the questions, and you’ll be pleasantly (not)surprised to learn that Maison Jacynthe is legit the cleanest most active line of beauty products I have had the opportunity to try.

Typically I would rattle off a top 5, but in this case, I’ll just tell you all my favourites! The Rose Jasmine Serum is a serum that is made up of 10 beneficial oils, each with their own virtue. Soothing and soften, the Rosen Jasmine Serum can be used to delay the signs of aging as it protects and tones the skin. Exfopur is an alternative treatment to the micro-epi-dermabrasion method. It seems too good to be true, but basically it stimulates   microcirculation and deep cleans to find softness and flexibility.

The Cardomome Honey Mask brightens your complexion while also tightening your pores. It plumps and softens the skin. It’s also the perfect solution for targeting acne! So, what I’m trying to say is it’s magic, lol. The Cleansing Oil is a gentle yet deep cleanser. It works great for targeting acne and improves your skin’s elasticity. I believe it is composed of jojoba and apricot, and one of my newfound favourite oils and smells: sea buckthorn.

The Rose Floral Water is a breath of fresh air, I’m not kidding, it smells amazing. It’s used a major anti-wrinkle solution and I’ve used it for a while and absolutely love it! Regenerative, soothing, moisturizing, I mean, it does it all. It’s also a beautiful gift, because again, the smell is intoxicating, and the bottle is beautiful.

The Body Oil is a relaxing and moisturizing, sensual experience. It leaves your skin soft, smooth and smelling sweet. Last but definitely not least, is the Vanilla Shea Butter – a hydrating moisturizing cream that acts like a collagen mask for your hands, lips, and even hair! It soothes and protects, nourishes and even takes care of scrapes and bruises. If you haven’t tried any of the Maison Jacynthe products yet, you might want to start browsing and adding to cart now. As we near the holiday season, it’s the perfect time to start thinking about that special someone you want to indulge in a little at-home spa love.
