LAMARQUE: A Fashion Profile

I think any line that commands the upper case commands my attention, I mean it! LAMARQUE is our very own homegrown luxurious leather brand keeping us Canadians stylish, elegant and truly urban.  

When I think leather, my mind goes in twelve different directions. There’s just so much to do with the fabric and so many looks that can be created – you could go full-on rock’n’roll and channel your oversized jacket Hendrix vibe or you could go more edgy, sexy and seductive in sleeker, tighter fitting leather pants and detailed tops. You can layer it up or keep it simple, because the truth is, there’s something leather for everyone.

LAMARQUE has been around for over a decade in Montreal’s garment district. Originally founded by third-generation leather tanners, LAMARQUE specializes in contemporary apparel and elevated outerwear. Each design is unique and has that LAMARQUE signature look.

I paired a 3 different La Marque Jackets with the same amazing & versatile leather shorts from them, called the Bernice short! I love all 3 styles equally, but I must say the fit is what sold me! Wearing the Calatea Jacket here- I’m beyond in love with the cut of both the sleeves and the cropped aspect, too. I feel it totally complemented my body & if you dress for your body type, you can find a way to mix and match elements from all your favourite trends and make it really work for you. One thing I love about this look is the tone-on-tone effect it created playing with all the variations of black and the bright pop of white in the middle.

She achieves the perfect balance of contemporary and traditional, trend and timeless. Every time I put on one of my LAMARQUE pieces, an idea for an outfit springs to mind complete with art direction for a shoot and everything. A refreshing brand with a strong voice, LAMARQUE has made its mark (ok, it was only a matter of time until I played that pun, right?) and has found its way into my closest like 10 times over. How good are these shorts, yet again, the “Bernice” with the Dylan 80’s Leather Biker Jacket?!

I’m all about switching it up- and grey leather isn’t often seen… especially in Spring & Summer- but I loved where La Marque was going with these and let me tell you- it makes for a put together look that took literally 0 time. Wearing the Antea jacket and the Bernice shorts again in light grey!
