New York City Runways

When you walk the streets on New York City during Fashion Week, the fashion is abounding. People pull out all the lace and trims and the city streets become their own runways. It’s insane to see how people pull off certain outfits, and I mean, pull off – because regardless of how lavish and outlandish some looks might seem, there is no better time to go all out than Fashion Week!

A runway show like Jonathan Simkhai’s could seriously stop you in your tracks, but for me, a show like this is just as much about the people who attend as the show itself. I saw big fashion names in the influencer business – namely, @devwindsor, who rocked a stunning trench-coat like belted dress, @lindatol_ who rocked the oversized puffy purse, @louloudesaison who had the most stunning collar and black and white look, and of course, @xeniaadonts who looks like she walked straight out of 5th element.

I wore a truly monochromatic neutral tone look. Representing TNT Fashion, I pulled a full look off their shelves. My go-to white Isabel Marant boots have seen their fair share of Fashion Week and with good reason – they go with everything. I worked my way up from there. I have these amazing, loose-fitting trousers and detailed Ulla Johnson sweater for a slick almost suit look. I feel this outfit has a hint of femininity, but could honestly go either way. I love this Chloe bag and I think it adds just the right amount of metallic pop.

Power suits, monochromatic looks, metallic detailing, I mean, I feel like we all got the same memo – the hardware accents and of course, given the season, the full length Sherpa coats.

I was in awe of some of the looks we captured and am super inspired. We saw head-to-toe plaid suits with platform Mary Janes paired with that 70s looking briefcase purse and it was pulled off with confidence and style.

Some looks caught me off guard initially, but upon closer inspection, I’m kind of inspired by how bold and out there they were. The green turtleneck paired with black cut-off jean shorts paired with a vest and shoulder-hanging blazer was one such look. I mean, I don’t think I could’ve pulled it off, but I love New York and the go-for-it style it inspires.

Monochromatic peach took over with @camilacoelho and then that peach suit with rope hemming… I mean – it’s a bold move, but @weworewhat made it work. Chinese food containers, the leather turtlenecks and backless satin blazers, I mean from colour to fabric and everything in between – I’m just obsessed with the city-wide fashion show and I know my photographer (@patriciabrochuphotographe) has a crazy fun time snapping away!
