My Little Boho Lab

Right before pandemic 2020 hit, I was on a trip in Tulum – probably one of the most awe-inspiring, jaw-dropping trips of my life. The natural landscape was the perfect backdrop for meditating and practicing yoga at dawn and then relaxing by the beach with friends until way past sunset. Something aligned in me when I was there… you know that feeling you get when you just vibrate at a higher frequency? My body felt in synch with the space, my mind felt wide open, and my soul felt grounded.

After being whipped around like a tornado upon our return, my first quiet thought was: how do I reproduce a little bit of Tulum here in my home? I remember when I was in Morocco, roaming the streets and shopping the shooks, I had found the colours to be so bold and alive, so impactful to the eye – stimulating yet also calming. All my thoughts were headed down one path and slowly but surely my creative vision was taking shape.

That’s when it happened. It doesn’t take too much research to find out that someone in our creatively rich city had thought of an incredible idea of bringing eclectic bohemian design and lifestyle to our homes and parties. That’s right – I found the Boho Lab.

The Boho Lab has everything from eco-friendly handmade Moroccan rugs to cushions, lamps, poufs, woven baskets and so much more. They will outfit your space in a unique way that always feels completely authentic. Their concept is rooted tradition and that is reflected in their excellent craftsmanship. When Amine Ben Taher, a landscape architect and Hamza Menebhi, an industrial designer, got together to create The Boho Lab, their vision was simple: share a beautiful piece of Morocco with North America.

It was just a simple gathering on my back terrace, but it felt like we were transported to an exotic vacation. A piece of Morocco with a twist Tulum and presto! My terrace was transformed into my own bohemian lab. In collaboration with @picnicmtl the Boho Lab has also created these amazing curated packages of furniture etc. to make your gathering, party, picnic, or 5 a 7 a full-on trip!

When I was in Marrakesh, I remember scouring the city for the right way to get these sensational woven pieces flown across the ocean and into my home. Between the duties and importing details, it would’ve been insane… it really wouldn’t have made sense. But my dream to bring these wild adventures, these serene landscapes and bright, strong colour palettes back with me to recreate these other worlds right here in my home stayed alive – thank you Boho Lab!
