Dill Romaine Salad

As a salad AND dill lover.. this dish just is heavenly to me! I love a good crunch on my salads too, so adding some walnuts onto of my Romaine Dill Salad is a must. This recipe is perfect to whip up on a whim.

Fresh dill is combined with mayonnaise and lemon juice to create this Creamy Dill Sauce/Dressing Recipe. It comes together in under 5 minutes!  Like I said, perfect to throw together quickly! All you really need to make your dressing is a bowl and a spoon or whisk!
It’s amazing to try to make homemade dressings when you can- they’re truly so much healthier and make a world of a difference in your salads!

Also, I like to make a lot of my own dressings because I love that I can control the ingredients and flavors depending on my mood. Another one I love is my Tahini Dressing- find that recipe here!

Back to our dill dressing- the star of this show! A little bit about how this dressing comes together:
The mayo adds additional creaminess & richness to the dressing, the freshly chopped dill is the yummiest addition and makes this dressing so flavourful & tangy, and the lemon juice adds a hint of sweetness to the sauce. It can also help thin out the sauce if it is too thick. The garlic will of course add that savory & sharp depth. Beyond delish!

INGREDIENTS

SALAD:
•Pack of mini romaine (I find them at 5 saisons in Montreal)
•Roasted chopped walnuts, a handful

DRESSING:
•1/2 cup olive oil
•¼ cup mayonnaise (feel free to use Avocado Oil Mayonnaise, and Vegan Mayo)
•1/2 fresh lemon, juiced
•1 garlic clove, grated
•1/4-1/2 cup of chopped fresh dill
•Salt & pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

1. In a small bowl, stir together the olive oil,  mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic, salt & pepper and dill. Chill until ready to use.

2. Cut each mini romaine in half & then place them on your serving plate facing upwards.

3.  Pour 1 tablespoon of dressing on each half - the dressing will seep into the ridges of the lettuce this way and give you perfect bites as you cut the lettuce while eating.

4. Then, sprinkle with the roasted chopped walnuts and voila!

HOW TO STORE ANY LEFTOVER DRESSING:
*Jules Tip: This sauce is best cold, so chill it until you’re ready to use it. Stored in an airtight container in the fridge, it will keep for up to 4 days

Bon Appetit!
