I don’t have skin that tends to act up. Not naturally acne prone or overly-pimpled, I have pretty smooth skin in general. However, even with somewhat easy skin, no one is impervious to a blemish here and there and, due to our long and dry winter conditions, some redness and irritable skin. Throw in a mask over our mouths all day, and the lower half of my face needs more tender, love, and care than ever before.

I put together a few of my favourite – tried and tested, Jules approved! – anti-blemish masks & products for you to try out to battle any “maskne” (or even just pimples etc. that you may have right now!) Let me know which is your fave!

Whenever I think of a mask, the image of mud slathered all over my face immediately comes to mind. That’s why when I discovered Obaji’s Complexion Clearing Masque, I jumped like a twelve-year-old. Aside from the fact that clay-based masks are so much fun they legit work wonders. Absorbing the surface oils and clearing out clogged pores, the Obaji Offects Sulfur mask can be used for spot treatment or full-face spa-like treatment.

GM Collin Puractive+ Essential Oil Complex works well to refresh your skin without drying it out, which some products can do, especially the generic kinds. I love using this for localized blemishes, because it’s so easy to smooth on and easy to us. Rich in essential oils, it also leaves your skin matte and soft.

There is a plethora of skincare products out there, and many are used for spot and blemish treatment. But, the SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Defense can be used for, you guessed it, age defense! I love this oil-free salicylic acid acne serum to target those acne-prone zones and anti-aging.

Another great anti-blemish mask is the Maskne Protection Bio Cellulose Mask. I know, it’s a mouthful, but it is a multi-formula that soothes redness, blemishes, and other skin irritations. Strengthening compromised skin, this mask can be used under your PPE to protect against physical abrasions (think winter, think dryness, think Maskne!).
