Top 5 natural deodorant
I’ve been on a long journey to find the ultimate natural deodorant. And while this might not sound like the sexiest subject, it is a necessary one. 20 brands in 2 years and I have narrowed my research down to a top 5 that are all safe to use on our bodies.
When I was younger, I used to use pharmacy brands straight off the shelf. I didn’t know how harmful it was to be slathering on toxins straight into my lymph nodes. I was simply attracted to a smell and would buy according to scent. But, with enough research, I have been committed to finding a deodorant that is not only yummy smelling, but also clean, won’t streak my clothes and actually works when I workout! Here are my top 5:
Megababe
My mega fave is Megababe – I am obsessed with the Rosy Pits both by name and smell. I am a floral kind of gal and this natural blend of rosy scents is a simple delight. It’s formulated with baking soda and is alcohol- and paraben-free. It prevents odors effectively without blocking your sweat ducts with any sort of threatening aluminums. Oh, and it also won Health Magazine Beauty Award Best Deodorant, for those who are interested!
Salt & Stone
Salt & Stone (eucalyptus & bergamot) takes natural one step further and is baking-soda-free. It’s clear and doesn’t leave a residue or streaks on your clothes. It neutralizes odor and is actually formulated with hyaluronic acid, which helps moisturize the skin and shea butter to regenerate and sooth the skin.
Agent Nateur
Agent Nateur holi (stick) No 3 is available at one of my new local faves, Routine Heroes, and is a super clean product that is absolutely delicious smelling. A light trace of honey, eucalyptus and lavender, this deodorant is so safe I would allow my girls to use it (when they are ready to start with beauty products!)
Kopari
Kopari Coconut deodorant is one of my absolutely frontrunners. It’s clean, oil-based and formulated with activated charcoal which acts as a magnet to draw out toxins (rather than push them in!). It is also made with coconut oil which nourishes, hydrates and protects sensitive skin.
Dr. Hauschka
Finally, Dr Hauschka Sage Mint deodorant is also a real standout. Made aluminum-free, the Sage Mint deodorant is naturally odor-controlling with the use of sage and witch hazel extracts.
