Winter Finds at Pony Ride

When winter comes around, it’s time to revamp the coat wardrobe which means, time to hit the sample sales!

Pony Ride distribution had a sample sale recently and I seriously hit the scene hard. I scoured the place top to bottom and found some of my favourite brands and new favourite winter pieces. I go every year and always come out a winner, but this year, I think I topped myself!

I’ve been a big fan of a lot of the brands Pony Ride carries, so I knew I’d be in for it, but this time I found four pieces that I absolutely fell in love with. The Zoey Sweater in Cobalt Gold Galaxy by Rails is such a beautiful colour, especially with my colouring (blonde and blue are an easy match). I love the way it fits, but mostly I love how playful yet elegant it is. The perfect wear-with-all piece, it does the winter trick: keeps you warm and also looks good.

Covering up with a stunning, eye-catching jacket is the perfect winter win. It’s one of those conundrums us Canadians are all too familiar with: needs to look good with the outfit if I have to keep it on but needs to look good draped on my chair if I must take it off. Well, the Black Jacket with white fur trim by Sophie Schnoor is one of the coats you just don’t want to take off. The huge pockets, the stunning pattern, and beautiful fabric and accents, this jacket is not part of the outfit, it is the outfit.

I love a good overcoat. A quick, tie-it-up-and-run-to-get-the-kids kind of coat. The Green Rino & Pelle Emerald & Navy Coat is exactly that. it’s warm, it’s ankle-length, it’s a trendy green with a deep blue interior and it is just so comfortable. What more can you ask from a coat?

Last, but certainly not least, the essential raincoat. Perfect for year-round wear, the Pink Raincoat by Jakke works well with every outfit and is every season. I love the oversized feel and how utilitarian it. I think I’ll wear this one up north a whole lot and I’m not mad about it!
