SPRING OOTD

I think I say this about all the seasons, but spring is my favourite season to dress for. The layers, the colours, the textures, and all the fun accessories.

Pulling from some of my usual suspects, I hit the streets with a look that I find is the quintessential flow into spring vibe. With the central focus of the draping Aritzia Pavant Quilted Long jacket, I added colours all around from head to toe so that the eye has a starting point and the look has cohesion.

I love a soft purple against an army green, the complimentary scheme just jumps out at me. Soft and pastel for the colour, which I picked up again with the Soufflé Yarn Mock Neck Sweater from Uniqlo. I love the lightness the sweater brings, but what I might love more about this look is the texture and layers.

The Acne Scarf adds the Mohair as well as a light pastel pattern. It adds depth and of course, some warmth. I love the draping, long jacket along with the draping long scarf. It feels sophisticated yet playful.

Playful works all the way down to my Nike Dunks – probably my fave shoes to throw on and not just because they are comfortable. I am absolutely obsessed with the colours – bright, vibrant, yet also not too loud. Just the right touch to pull everything together.

Last but not least, the small but perfect Jacquemus purse. With Le Grand Chiquito, I added a touch of white so as not to crowd the palette but also bring out some bright lightness from all the details in the shoes and scarf… head to toe, like I said.

Sometimes it’s intuitive dressing – what feels good on my body, what I’m in the mood to wear – but sometimes it’s a science – if you get the colours right, pick a main attraction, and work around it, you can truly build a look that resonates with a moment. What do you think?
