Coconut Matcha Latte

This delightful Coconut Matcha Latte always helps me start my day with a smile! What I love most about this recipe is its versatility. I can customize the sweetness to suit my mood each day and choose between enjoying it hot or over ice, depending on how I feel. With the warm weather we've been having, I must admit that the refreshing twist of an iced coconut matcha latte has been my recent obsession.

Now, here's the exciting part: This indulgent treat requires just three basic ingredients, and you won't need any fancy barista skills or specialized equipment. So, even if you don’t have that adorable matcha whisk, don’t worry! A small kitchen whisk or a milk frother will work just as perfectly, creating that desired frothy texture.

Coconut Matcha Latte

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ - 1 tsp. Matcha of your choice, I like organic one from David’s Tea

  • ¼ cup Hot water (Make sure it’s not boiling!)

  • ¼ cup Warmed coconut milk*

  • Maple syrup, honey, stevia, or sweetener of choice (optional)

NOTE

*Feel free to experiment with different milk options like almond, oat, or coconut milk to find your preferred taste. You can also sprinkle a little extra matcha powder on top for a lovely finishing touch.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Begin heating your water. Sift your matcha powder to remove any clumps and ensure a smooth texture. This step is crucial to ensure you don’t get any clumps in your matcha!

  2. In a mug, combine the matcha powder and hot water. Whisk vigorously until the matcha is fully dispersed and foamy. Use an up-and-down or side-to-side motion with your whisk.

  3. Warm your coconut milk in a frother, if desired. One warmed, pour the coconut milk over the matcha mixture and whisk again to froth the milk.

  4. Taste your latte and add sweetener to your liking, if any. If I’m feeling something sweet, I usually reach for maple syrup. Et voilà!

BON APPETIT!
