A year ago, the W Hotel in Victoria Square was undergoing a major revamp, from their luxurious new suite designs to the brand new ground-floor restaurant, Ê.A.T. I had the pleasure of returning to this trendy restaurant for their 1 Year Anniversary and made a vow to go back more often. The revolutionary êatery blends the best of art, music, fashion, and fine dining, resulting in the avant-garde hot spot our city was missing.

The project was born from bpc, leaders in cutting edge hospitality concepts and the creators behind some of the best restaurants, bars, and hotels worldwide. Peter and Erin Chase, the geniuses responsible for the W hotels’ Wunderbar and Plateau Lounge, introduced the collaboration between premier artists, chefs, designers, and DJs with restaurant Ê.A.T.

The restaurant itself is breathtaking with its concrete floors and once upon a time white walls, which now display an array of vibrant artwork curated by MASSivart. The collection of street art inspired murals, paintings, sculptures, and installations were made by top local artists and make the space ultra modern. Their collaboration with Stikki Peaches & What is Adam has definitely brought the W Hotel into the 21st century!

At the helm of the kitchen is internationally acclaimed chef Alan Ashkinaze and executive chef Sébastien Giannini. Their lunch and dinner menu is seafood based, offering oysters, shellfish, and tasty tartares, as well as specialty fish on the grill. Trollies glide through the 160-seat dining hall where delicious sauces and meals are prepared table side. Order a glass of fine wine or try a signature cocktail designed by top NYC mixologist, Eben Klemm.

Music and fashion play a pivotal role in the overall ambiance of the resto-bar. The concept involves awesome playlists made by some of Montreal’s top DJs. Each month, custom soundtracks are created by the city's best, keeping us on our toes. Also, local fashion designer Travis Taddeo designed the sleek all black unisex staff uniforms.

I recently tried their brunch specials and can’t wait to go back! Their mango mimosas, fresh baked goods, and kale smoothies are out of this world. I’m still drooling over the lobster eggs benedict, mushroom cassolette with candied green onions, and seafood poutine!

I urge you to head over to try their fantastic menu and soak up the beauty of it all. They are open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offering food and beverages from 6:30am to 1:30am.

L7M created a wall to wall mural at the W Montreal. The unveiling of this piece took place on November 19th, during the W Montreal's happy hour to mark the anniversary of the restaurant Ê.A.T. or "Etre avec toi". E.A.T is part gallery, part restaurant that showcases 15 Montreal artists live and in action. This concept pushes the limits of artistic accessibility by offering its clients art right at their table.
