M•A•C Pays Tribute to the 'Colourful' Palette of Our City
It's no secret that I have maintained an ongoing going love affair with Montreal. Our city boasts a uniquely branded palette comprising art, gastronomic restaurants, fashion, and multiculturalism. Even though M·A·C (Make-up Art Cosmetics), was created in Toronto in 1984, its core philosophy of "all ages, all races, all sexes", mirrored Montreal's colourful DNA, making it the ideal location for its first outpost and my post of the week.
In early June, M∙A∙C Cosmetics unveiled its regional flagship and NEW Pro store location at 770 Sainte-Catherine West, also making it its 100th Canadian store! I'm in awe of this boutique and all it has to offer by way of quality of products and exceptional service. It's easy to see why M•A∙C is among the world's most sought-after brands by makeup artists, models, photographers, journalists and moms on-the-go like me who do their make up in the car (at red lights of course) and five minutes before an event.
While I'm on the subject of doing my make up, I am in love with the new AW16 collection. Specifically the cream colour base in "Shell" is a great way to add subtle highlights to cheekbones and even as a hint of shimmer over a matte lipstick. The big brow pencil in "Lingering" is a must for creating big, bold, buxom brows and the best part of this mechanical pencil is the built in sharpener. For the days where I am looking less than my best, the strobe cream gives a great boost to my skin with its iridescent particles and antioxidants. Last but not least, anyone who knows me, knows I am a lipgloss fanatic and I am enamoured with their "Fashion Fanatic" lipgloss ;)
Although these products are not part of the AW16 collection, they are my tried and true favourites and staples in my make up bag. My go-to blushes are Melba, Blushbaby, and Clove. On my eyes, I enjoy applying light, shimmery shadows like Naked Lunch or All Glitters. And when it comes to lip liners, I can’t get enough of the M.A.C. Patent Polish Lip pencils in Revved Up, Clever, and Ruby.
The M•A•C artists continue to offer signature makeup applications, lessons and demos, and invite us all to experiment with the latest makeup trends as well as our classic favourites in this gorgeous new space and you best believe that I was one of the first ones to check it out.
Next stop for M∙A∙C will be the opening of Quebec City’s very first freestanding shop at Place Sainte-Foy.
