Top 5 Face Oils

Between moisturizers and SPFs, face masks and facial cleansers, I feel my skin really gets the royal treatment. But there is one other secret ingredient when it comes to hydrating and brightening your skin… face oil.

I’ve tried a whole bunch over the years – from the most luxurious and silky oils to simple serums – and trust me, there is a difference. It’s important that you try out a bunch before you commit to the one that’s right for you. Here are the few I’ve tried and love:

L’extrait Peoni

JB Skin Guru

With a light peony scent, the Peoni L’extrait by JB Skin Guru has deep reparative nutrients. So when I use this silky oil, I usually add a few drops into my moisturizer. The oil gives an instant glow to my skin, soothes redness and replenishes my skin with vital nutrients. There are a bunch of amazing benefits to this multi-functional oil – as an added bonus, I usually rub a few drops on my hands before bed to reduce inflammation while I sleep.

Juno Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil

Sunday Riley

We all know Sunday Riley is an Instagram favourite, and for good reason. The Juno Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil is a rich blend of cold-pressed superfood seed oils working to enhance and protect the skin all while boosting that radiant glow. I’ve actually felt it firm up my skin and work to repair dryness. Nourishing vitamins like A and C brighten the skin and support anti-aging, and with a promise like that, you know I had to try it out. But, it legit delivers.

Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil

Guerlain

I’ve been a long-time lover of all things Guerlain, and the Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil is one of my ultimate go-tos when it comes to face oils. Made with exclusive Royal Jelly and Ouessant Black Bee Honey, you’ll feel plumper, smoother and completely revitalized. Guerlain is one of the pioneers in the skincare world. So you know that when they say all you need is a micro-drop of oil to see results, they know what they’re talking about.

Tip: I’ve used this on areas where I have eczema and have felt immediate relief.

Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Kiehl’s Since 1851

Kiehl’s has been around since the beginning of time, am I right? I feel like I’ve known about it since my early teens and it’s always had this reputation in the skincare world of being clean in terms of ingredients. Well, the Midnight Recovery Concentrate is a lightweight oil that works as an anti-aging serum. I use this oil mostly at night before bed. You could mix it into a moisturizer, like all other oils, but I use this one pure. I love the smell of lavender, which incidentally also has calming effects… perfect for bedtime!

Antioxidant Nutritive Oil

Institut Esthederm

The Institut Esthederm’s Antioxidant Nutritive Oil is part of a skincare system. It’s perfect for all skin types, but was ultimately engineered for sensitive or reactive skin (that’s me!).  It’s made with one key ingredient that provides intense nutrition and comfort to the skin: hazelnut oil. Who would have thought? I mean, it’s not an ingredient you hear about often, but you can feel the difference. This oil is on my roster as part of my daily routine.

I’ve also heard of a few other oils that are essential to promoting healthy, youthful skin. I’ve been into trying super simple, pure ingredients at their barest and I recently heard of sea buckthorn for ultimate skin care - have you heard of any beauty brands or essential oils I need to try out and review for you? Let me know!
