Top 5 BODY OILS

We all know that when our skin feels dry or needs a little smoothing, moisturizer or other body creams will do the trick. But, what most people have yet to figure out is just how beneficial a couple of drops of oil is to your skincare routine.

The immense advantages of incorporating a body oil to your beauty line up is truly astounding. There are so many natural health benefits to the oils I’ve tested out, you can simply pick one from my top 5 that suits your needs best.

Corpa Nutritive

Corpa Flor

The Corpa Nutritive by Corpa Flora has a formula that will nourish your skin while also working the anti-aging angle. It feels luxurious on your skin, but I use this one as a scalp treatment: applied directly on my scalp and hair before showering and I leave it on for about 30ish minutes. I then rinse it out with a double shampoo (lather, rinse, repeat). I also love the added twist of the most delicious fragrance: tangerine, lemon, and neroli. I grabbed mine at Annie Young, but it’s also available online.

Sleep Body Oil

Indie Lee

Part of my clean collection, the Sleep Body Oil by Indie Lee is an aromatic oil that induces sleep – so you can guess when I use this one! Made with lavender, Jojoba, grape see, marula oil and Moroccan chamomile, this blend is vitamin-rich and conditions the skin so that it soothes while nourishing. I usually reach for this one before bed, but it’s also great if you took in a little too much sun. I picked mine up at Le Brow Bar, and it can also be purchased online.

holi (body) ageless body serum

AgentNateur

Another go-to in my clean line up, the holi (body) ageless body serum by AgentNateur is my obsession. It works to firm your skin as well as contour, but it also hydrates and smooths. This is the oil I lather on post-spa or post-bath. My body is relaxed and loose, and so it’s the optimal time to massage in a little Rosehip tightening oil. You can get this one at Victoria Park Pharmacy or directly on the AgentNateur website.

Bancha Oil

Teaology

Bancha Oil by Teaology is advertised as the one oil that has a thousand uses, and it really does. One oil, one thousand uses. A pure, cold-pressed botanical blend of of marula, jasmine, olive, and sweet almond, it boosts and brightens skin while also energizing and nourishing. I use this on my hair, body, face and lips for intense hydration. I’ve actually even used it to repair split ends! This is my go-to in the winter because it is so deeply nourishing, but if you dilute a little in a moisturizer, this oil can be used year-round for sure.

Tonic body Treatment Oil

Clarins

What I love about the Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil is that it is a toning treatment made from 100% pure plant extracts. It is lightweight and non-greasy, so it’s amazing if you’re in a rush and don’t want to ruin your clothes with oil! This oil is a cult-classic for mamas-to-be because the formula is so richly firming and it is like magic for stretch marks – even though I’m not pregnant, I use this one because with power like that, um, you better believe I’m going to use it!

Take my word for it, body oils are the new moisturizer. While I do not intend on fully replacing my countertop with oils exclusively, they are a welcome addition to my beauty routine. I mean, most moisturizers are formulated with oils already, so why not go back to the basics and use the pure oil itself. Try it, you’ll see for yourself!
