I went through a few incredible books this summer, each one close to my heart for different reasons. I’ve got my top 5 for you here and each one tells a completely different story and can help you in some way through the messaging. I loved each one, I’m curious what you all felt about them. So here goes!

Master of Single

Nicole Jones

Nicole is a long-time friend of mine. Our paths have crossed in multiple ways throughout our lives and this book is the culmination of her life as a single woman. Master of Single is a challenging feat that’s for sure, but through page-turning chapters, she tells the story of what it’s been like to be in relationships, have romance, lose romance and lean into being single. Her effervescent personality jumps off the pages and it’s such an empowering book.

Body Mind Balancing

Osho

Recommended to me by Melissa from @ritualdailyclub, Body Mind Balancing: Using Your Mind to Heal Your Body walks us through the disconnection we feel from our bodies and how to get back and reconnect with yourself. It’s so relevant and insightful, I learned so many things about how the balance between body and mind is so important to daily life.

The Four Agreements

Don Miguel Ruiz

When I have told I should read a book, I am immediately intrigued if the person doing the recommending is someone I hold in utmost esteem. When Patricia (my forever photographer and good friend) told me to read The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz I picked it up right away. Oh and I guess it helped that the author appeared on Oprah’s SuperSoul Sunday! Lol! This book is a great gift for anyone in your life… including yourself.

The Source

Dr. Tara Swart

Do you believe in the law of Attraction? Well, The Source: The Secrets of the Universe, the Science of the Brain by Dr. Tara Swart does a convincing job of teaching what the most effective tools for self-discovery are in order for you to tap into your own power and shape your ultimate destiny. Um, yes please! Marie-Josee from Summer Memories mentioned this book to me and I haven’t thanked her enough for this eye-opening book. Oh and did I mention that author Dr. Tara Swart is a neuroscientist, psychiatrist and Senior Lecturer at MIT! Yeah, I think she’s a reliable source.

Atomic Habits

James Clear

Atomic Habits helps you take a look at how the habits you have in your life work for or limit your growth. With practical strategies on how to break bad habits and adopt new good ones, I’ve learned how even the tiniest changes in my behaviour can lead to big changes.

I always take a good book with me on vacations and weekend trips up north. I try to read a bit every night before bed (not totally integrated yet as a routine, but I’m trying!). If you’ve read a book that has impacted your life in a positive way, hit me up! I wanna hear about it and click it into my wish list library. Happy reading!
