Chalet Vibez
Probably my saving grace this past year is this incredible home we have up in the country. There is something so quaint and relaxing about being together as a family every single weekend. No frills, no bells, no whistles, really just some good old family time.
I grew up going to the chalet every weekend, skiing and being outdoors with my family, grandparents, friends and everyone who wanted to just relax and be together. We would gather over brunch, which would seep into dinner, and then music and drinks! It was always about coming together and we really needed nothing else.
Nothing makes me happier than being able to share in that lifestyle with my children. Creating these precious memories of togetherness and bonding while connecting to nature. Our home is by the lake and we have this unique strip of sandy beach right by the edge of the water.
Whether it’s summer time and all about the sun and swim or if it’s the fall and we just cozy up and go for hikes and bike rides, we always find a way to come together and just hang out. Soon it’ll hopefully be about the ski weekend and the warm cocoa by the fire. There isn’t a season that isn’t incredible up north! Am I right?
Packing for our trips has gotten easier and easier. The kids know exactly what they want to bring with them and we leave a whole bunch of stuff up there. But, this in-between weather has been slightly harder to pack/dress for. So, we kind of bring everything – you should see my trunk on a Friday afternoon! Looks like I’m headed on a one-year adventure and I’m worried about whether they’ll have a grocery store nearby. Haha!
Billie le Kid has an awesome collection of super unique clothing. I love how highly curated their selection is, because it kind of streamlines the shopping process. They have everything you need from essentials to one-of-a-kind items. I remember in the summer when I picked up these super cute sweaters from Birdz that said Vacances, and now, we grabbed a whole bunch of matching sweaters that say Chalet. I don’t think we could’ve picked a more perfect logo for our family weekend! Our hats are all from Birdz as well which we snagged at Billie le Kid. You know me, I’m all about that local support and there is no better time than right now to hit up your favourite local MTL boutique and show them some love.
I don’t know about you, but if we didn’t have the change of scenery every weekend, well.. suffice to say I’d have to make due, but wow am I grateful that we have this privilege to retreat to. And let me say, what a retreat it is! What’s your favourite way to spend your weekends?
