Dressed Up in Tulum

Before I left for my beach vacation, I pulled outfits and created looks. I wanted to have simple pieces that I could wear more than once so that my packing would be most efficient. I grabbed some basics and a bunch of beachwear, but I also made sure to have some wow pieces that would be my go-to for a night out or a more special occasion.

I’ve been a huge fan of Isabel Marant for years. Whether it’s winter essentials, accessories or her seasonal collections, Marant is one of my easy favourites. The fits are right, the patterns are on point and I am just in love with the general style of her designs.

I brought this zebra-print, cotton-blend maxi dress for obvious reasons. First off, the black and white is sharp and makes such a bold statement. I love animal print when done well, and the lines on this pattern just create such an elemental and sexy stripe effect. I paired it with a studded belt to add a cinched waist to create contrast to the femininity of the puffy, button sleeves and draping neck line.

Open and flowing, the dress is perfect for a beach vibe, but this is also a dress I would throw on for a city party, cocktail, pool day or night out. It can be dressed up with heels or even little booties, some great accessories (you could go gold or silver with this colour scheme), and a leather jacket, or you could pair down and go barefoot in the sand… mmm bring me back!

I snagged this unique maxi at TNT – my first and only stop before I go on any trip (think Fashion Week). I can create looks head-to-toe with the designers and styles they carry and I always feel like a runway star when I throw on any of the outfits I’ve pulled from their racks.

The attention to detail TNT emphasizes in the brands they choose to carry make shopping easy, you know that no matter what you pick up, it’s going to be hot… especially if you’re wearing it in Tulum! Lol!
