Top 5 Hair Repair Products

We take care of our skin, we curate our wardrobes and we nourish our bodies with healthy foods, but what about our hair? I don’t know about you, but I always treat my hair to some tender loving care, especially since I dye and treat it as much as I do.

We put our hair through a lot. Whether it’s dyeing, styling, or heat activating, your hair will inevitably dry out and split at the end. That’s why I have scoured the market to find my favourite hair products to repair and hydrate my tresses. Here are my top 5:

Kérastase

Resistance Mask for Damaged Hair

Acting as a hair mask, the Kérastase Resistance Mask for Damaged Hair strengthens weak hair by restoring shine and preventing split ends. It works on all hair types, which is great because my hair is super oily some seasons and rather dry during others. I massage it in like I would shampoo, and then leave it for about 10 minutes. I’ll then rinse thoroughly – this is obviously best done in the shower!

Kérastase

Blond Absolu Hydrating Illuminating Shampoo

I usually follow up with the Kérastase daily shampoo to hydrate and illuminate my blonde mane. Blond Absolu Hydrating Illuminating Shampoo is a great option for those with blonde hair of all types (curly, straight, dry or greasy). The shampoo removes the impurities that build up in the hair that could decrease its shine potential. It’s packed with hyaluronic acid (yes, it’s great for your hair too!) and edelweiss flower, a natural anti-oxidant that softens and calms the fibers in your hair.

Opalex

No. 6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Crème

Opalex No. 6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Crème is a leave-in repairing solution that eliminates frizz while also hydrating the hair. It’s smoothing cream that moisturizes so that when you heat activate with a blow dryer, you’ll be protected from potential damage. When you apply this cream, be sure to concentrate mostly on the mid-section and ends (it’ll get greasy if you apply to the scalp).

L’Oréal

Smartbond

L’Oréal Smartbond was designed for professionals, so you know it’s next level. It’s a 3-part system that consists of two salon steps and one at-home step. The first is an additive that protects the colour, the second is a shampoo, then when you get home, you use the conditioner once a week to continually strengthen the fibers and colour in your hair.

Rene Furterer

Melaleuca

The Melaleuca Anti-Dandruff Shampoo by Rene Furterer works amazing for oily and flaky scalp. It cleans away oily dandruff and reduces itching with a rich infusion of essential oils. Enriched with Curbica extract, this shampoo will regulate your natural oil production so your scalp won’t dry out further. It works like magic and honestly, if you have itchy scalp from dandruff, then this is a must.

There are a few other products that are essential to my hair-care routine, like coconut oil massages and the Moroccan oil products. I also like to switch things up ever once in a while, I always like to see what else is new out there.
