My first solo jewelry line is finally here! I’m so excited to officially launch the first parure of my Jewels by Mademoiselle Jules collection and I’m beyond grateful to be able to share with all of you!
There so much thought and love that went into creating this first instalment, but what I really want to share is the meaning behind each and every piece. You know the old adage that a picture is worth a thousand words, well for me, jewelry tells the tale.
The thought process behind this parure (set of accessories meant to be worn together as a set) is the unifying theme of the colour red. It’s no mere coincidence that I launch on Chinese New Year. Infused with the power and strength that the colour red evokes, each piece carries the weight of red and spreads the message of love, passion, protection, and strength.
Also, this year happens to be the year of the tiger, which is both my eldest daughter’s and my father’s birth year. The synergy is every so apparent for me – I feel as though this adventure, my very first solo brand – is an accumulation of many years of hard work, passion, love, and loss. This past year especially, my whole life was turned upside down, and rather than see only darkness, I manifested a new dream and transformed the darkness into a beacon of hope. My family is the crux of all that hope and positivity.

Fresh water pearls are my all-time favourite piece of jewelry. In a necklace, earring, charm, brooch, bracelet or whatever else, if it has pearls, I’m all in. My birth stone, pearls symbolize so much for me, and then, string it on red cord and throw in a gold clasp and Lucky Red is born. I am obsessed with the possibilities this piece has to offer. The thing about a parure, if you haven’t picked up on it yet, is that you are meant to wear the accessories as a set. Two is Better Than One are these two same gold hoops with distinct charms, one a red, pear-shaped charm and the other, a clear, circular charm. You can play around with the charms as they are removable and interchangeable. This speaks to the playfulness of the collection that I will continue to add to in the coming weeks. Finally, the Rainbow Road. What can I say about this piece de resistance? Probably the most attention-calling piece, yet still subtle enough to not be a bold statement piece. The best of both worlds.
