My Holts Fall Fashion Look

To all those who believe fall fashion is all about auburns and neutrals, I’m about to blow your minds!

Don’t get me wrong, I love a rich brown or a deep burgundy as much as the next girl, but this fall season, I’m all about pairing that classic fall palette with a bright pop of colour.

As the seasonal creeps up on us, it’s time to layer with a jacket or big sweat, which I am a huge fan of. Because it’s an extra piece I get to weave in with pattern, texture and colour. But what I love most about the fall isn’t just the layers, it’s also the fact that the streets are still clean and we get to pair our chunky sweaters with pumps or cute booties.

For this fall outfit, I pulled some of my favourite things: patterns, wide-leg cargos, and bright pink! An unlikely pairing, but I’m gonna be so bold as to say: I think it worked!

This Smythe coat is probably the core piece that pulls the look together. A playful purple and burgundy houndstooth, the Smythe at Holts Duster coat is as trendy as it is perfect for the season. Structured shoulders and straight to the knee, I love the uniqueness of this piece and I think it’ll stand the test of time.

Paired with Still Here Charlie pant in Hunter, I brought in the depth of colour to both fade so as not to compete with all the wild colour combos going on. Something strong to anchor the look, the cargo pant is a unisex fit. It also reminds me of the 90s, which in my memory, needed a reboot, lol!

So here is where the pop of colour comes in. Accessories! The easiest way to go crazy without being too over the top. A subtle pop of pink between the Hourglass small top Balenciaga bag and Venus pink slingback Attico pumps, the look comes alive without being too loud.

Creating fall looks is one of my favourite challenges. Between the layers and the dreary feel of anticipating the cold, fall fashion gives way to fun opportunities to be playful with colour, layer up (and layer down) with cute jackets, and of course, my playground: accessorizing!
