Hatley: 1 pant 3 looks

When I say I love local, I mean, I really love local. Committed to finding brands that are truly Canadian, I love sharing our talent and artistry with you guys. So today, I want to introduce to Hatley.

For those who already know Hatley, their stuff is amazing right? Designed thoughtfully right here in Quebec in North Hatley (did the name give it away), they now sell in over 38 countries! Made to last a long time, with good quality and timeless styles, Hatley has a great collection of some of the softest fabrics and coziest pieces. But more than that, I find their pieces so versatile, they lend to multiple wears in many ways.

I’m a fan of big cozy sweaters, and Hatley has that in spades. When I threw on my Jaime Ankle Pant (here in caviar), I was inspired to style it a few ways, but always with comfort and fall in mind. So, starting with the pull-on pant, I took my cues from the functional yet elevated style of the ankle pant.

I paired the pant with a military lace-up boot and the Piper Sweater in Bear Cub. The perfect cable knit for a cold day, I could pull on a denim jacket for layers or wear it alone and still hold in the warmth.

The Blooming Cable Sweater in Faded Port (they have a stunning sky blue as well) is a great example of a look that goes many ways. It feels sophisticated and work-ready, yet also could be a casual lunch or even a day out in the country. I love the colour palette of a deep green with a pop of pink, but again, even a checkered blouse has a place with these pants.

I paired one more top with these pant, the Olivia Blouse – Black Check Plaid – this is probably the look most commonly worn when going for a professional look. But the mandarin collar and stunning topstitching give this outfit an added element of street elegance.

A note on the boots: I think typically when wearing an ankle pant, especially a wider leg as opposed to a skinny pin cut, most of us tend to lean toward sneakers, flats, or even pumps (for that length), but I went with a knee boot and I think it works in a fun, equestrian vibes, kind of way. Because I’m petite, I tend to shy away from this look as it could make you look shorter, but honestly, I felt bold, strong, and sexy in the look. I learned to take risks with these pants and I think between these three looks, I pulled it off!
