Farm Rio

I recently discovered a serious gem of a fashion brand! I’m so inspired by their vibrant expression and prints that I can’t believe it took me so long to find them and share!

Farm Rio is made up of a group of creatives from Rio de Janeiro that came together with over 20 years of fashion and lifestyle experience. They infused the brilliance and playfulness of Brazilian culture—all the emotions, the shapes, the magic—and designed fashion pieces that will legit leave you picking your jaw up off the ground.

It all started way back in 1997. Yup, that long ago. From a small stand, like a booth at a local fashion market called Babilonia Feira Hype, that turned into a store, and then more stores, and then, now, a widely recognized Brazilian brand. Farm Rio is life and I was so inspired to throw looks together that were created to showcase my outerwear as the piece de resistance.

Brazilian culture has so much energy and soul, and that is exactly what comes through in Farm Rio. Founders Katia Barros and Marcellos Bastos took the vibrant colours of Rio and infused each design with that strong feminine spirit. Taking their brand worldwide, it’s like you’re wearing a piece of Rio culture.

Exotic and rich, sustainable and crafted with fashion-forward aesthetic, Farm Rio is a sight for dazzling eyes. I paired each piece with bold colour matches. While playing around with looks, I felt so cheerful and positive, the coats beam with exuberance.

The cuts, the fabrics, the highly stylized patterns, every piece tells a story and feels both vintage and fashion-forward.

Farm Rio is strongly rooted in their commitment to One purchase = One tree planted. Like some other philanthropic brands, they’ve centered nature as not only one of their strongest inspiration sources but also one of their pillars to giving back. One Tree Planted aids reforestation in the Amazon Rainforest. With every web and in-store purchase (even some authorized retailers), Farm Rio donates the dollar amount equivalent to one tree to be planted.

I checked their site for stats and I think by November 2021, they donated 659,487 trees to the Amazon and Atlantic Forest! Stunning fashion and a commitment to sustainability – Farm Rio is a brand I can get behind.
