Miami City Guide 2022

Whenever I visit any city, new or familiar, I always want to try out fresh places and get a feel for how the city has changed. I love my staple restos, shopping, and districts in Miami, but I’m always the first one to ask friends for new recos and go out to explore!

During my stay in Miami I found a whole bunch of spots I’m excited to share. First on the list is dinner with a vibe. I’m all about fun dinner, great music, super club style. Hasalon is the new party spot – it’s beyond fun. Their original is all the out in Tel Aviv, but they have another in NYC and now Miami. Chef Eyal Shani brings huge flavours and legit it is always a good time.

I also hit up MILA – all about those entertainment vibes. Dancers with fire over water and yummy food – it’s a feast for the eyes and belly. It reminds me of my good old dance days watching these talented ladies get down all night long. Another amazing night spot is Sexy Fish – the name is so fun and catchy, it’s impossible to get into, and the DJs are off the hook… the perfect recipe for a perfect spot.

Then of course, I have my OG spots – the places I have to go to because I miss them when I’m in Montreal. Nobu is a classic and with good reasons, Call me Gaby is a new trendy Italian spot with a garden-style setting, Kosushi is beyond delicious, and then of course there is Lucali Pizza – it’s incredible for pizza & salad and also, I once saw Beyonce and Jay-Z there, just saying.

Day time spots are a dime a dozen in this city, but I have my go-to faves – Pura Vida is perfect for coffees and treats and the Fresh Carrot is the best for smoothies, juices, and that sort of healthier stuff. Another fave of mine is Delicious Raw in Sunset Harbour, best açai bowls ever! Coffee spots are a great pit stop when we spend an afternoon in the Design District. Everything is great – it’s hard to pick. From Dior Café, Fendi Café and Baccarrat Boutique BBar Café & lounge, there’s no shortage of luxury cafés, lol!

I also love to spend time in Wynwood whenever I’m in Florida. Coyo Taco is hands down my ultimate, but there is also Omakai Sushi and Kyu for Asian flavours. I have been a long time fan of Doma in Wynwood too, which is amazing southern Italian cuisine. Beyond YUM!

Another spot in the area that we love- ZAK the baker for scrumptious treats, and it’s kosher!

Another Wynwood must of mine is Morelia, but dont you worry, they have them ALL over Florida. They are truly divine- some of the best ice cream pops out there, it’s literally totally customizable to your likes.. add any dip & topping you want for the yummiest treat of life.

I never skimp when I’m on vacay – and by skimp I mean, I go to town on all three meals every day. But vacation calories don’t count, especially when I keep my workout routine on track!

I love MODO Yoga – I hit the rooftop morning class alone or with some of my friends who have moved out here. This spot actually owned by my girlfriend Cleo – she is so amazing and talented – if you love yoga, you’ll love MODO Yoga. I did the 8 am rooftop yoga and LOVED it.

Another killer class I took at MODO was the 10am Creative Movement class with Ashli. The Creative Movement Method curated & created by the amazing Ashli Katz, teaches the class centred on her concept- and believe me, it’s seriously one of a kind!

You’ll work through dance-inspired movements to open, followed by music-driven deep Vinyasa flow. Specially curated playlists bring Ashli’s love of dance and yoga together to form connection through movement. Without the expectation of knowledge of yoga principles or pose names, this is a class for all levels and experience! Its extremely unique and Ashli is amazing, she’s extremely well-loved & well known in Miami- and with good reason! Check out her IG right here for more info on her.

And last but not least, Sweat 440. It was started in Miami, but we have one of our own back in MTL, too! With great friends, fave spots, and gyms that follow me to the beach, it’s no wonder Miami feels like my home away from home!
