Miami: My home away from home

There are some places that are my home away from home. Miami is one of those places for me and my family. In the past two years, not being able to pop in and out and in again has been hard, to say the least, mostly because vacations to Miami are all about quality family time doing things that have become traditions and trying new things to make new memories.

Whenever we go to Miami we are always there with my mom, which is an incredible way to spend some quality mom-daughter bonding time for me, but also some serious quality time for my kids to spend with their Mamie. It’s different from when we are at home and enjoying a meal together; vacation time with grandma is an added something special and the connections created are magical to watch.

We did so much together on this trip. Since it’s been two years since we got a chance to hit the Miami beaches, we made the most of it by checking out new hot spots to eat, fun new adventures to play, and finding max time to relax together on the hot sand soaking up the sun.

Our winter has been long and colder than usual. So getting a chance to get away and take a break from the squalls has been a real pleasure. Taking to the beach in my Hungza bathing suit rather than layering on thermal wear is a welcome way to enjoy February. Any opportunity to throw an outfit together, especially a summer look, and I’m game!

It’s funny how even though we’ve all spent an intense amount of time in our homes with our families, being away makes it all feel new again. For me, vacation with fam feels very different than stuck at home with fam, lol. When we go up north, it resets the mood and gives a new atmosphere. Miami is the same, it’s like we hit refresh and are able to find precious moments to know each other in new contexts.

Especially for my kids – they are getting older every day (as children do) and giving them the gift of getting away together and seeing mom and dad away from their comps giving the family our fullest attention is probably the highlight of any vacation. As you can tell by my phone photography, this trip is all about us, family vibes.
