A Vibrant Life

I’m vibrating at a higher frequency these days. Perhaps it’s the Miami sun or perhaps it’s the gratitude I feel beaming from within, either way I feel it all around me: a calm sense of joy and an energetic magnetism.

I know, I know. These words all feel somewhat abstract or frou frou – but it’s real. And whenever I feel this strong connection inside, everything else seems to click. The thing is, between my gratitude journal, my meditation and breathwork, and my healthy eating, I am taking some serious care of my overall mental wellbeing.

Then of course, there is my physical health. One thing that lifts me up like nothing else is a playful attitude toward life. Listening to music and dancing around as I get ready – nothing makes me feel more alive and present in the moment than the uplifting mood booster of great music.

To top all of this off, is my strong belief in the therapy of colour. You’ve seen it come through in Mademoiselle Jules Jewelry and you’ve seen it for years in the way I dress – colour is life!

Immersing myself in the mood enhancing power of colour, I style myself in the colours that I feel and it sets the tone for the day, both within myself and how I express myself outwardly. I’ve played around with bright pops of colours and on those hot sunny days, nothing feels more right than those vibrant pinks and neon oranges.

But today, it was about the subtle blues – that soft pastel, silky sea blue – from head to toe in RD Style, I draped myself in the monochromatic power of blue’s calm and relaxation coupled with the possibility for open communication. All about the message of peace and trust, blue protects us and I truly feel it in my bones when I’m dressed in all blue.

Delving deep into colour therapy, extracting the abundance of green came to me when I paired the brightest jungle green with the zebra pattern. I mean, when you think about it, the colours bounce so well off each other, one lifting the other. Green has a healing power like no other colour and paired with white, I summoned the cleansing and purity that comes when we heal and grow.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, fashion is all about expressing yourself. Yes, there is certainly an aesthetic that comes through on that superficial level – silhouettes, style, and visual appeal – but fashion is more than what it looks like on the outside, fashion is also about how it feels when you button up that blouse or slip on that skirt. It’s about being in touch with how you feel and expressing it through colour, jewelry, and the perfect article of clothing. What colour are you feeling these days?
