Carsharing by Turo

Over the last couple of years, I’ve become more and more fond of local (or should I say, national) road trips. Just hopping into the car and driving on the open road with no plan in place, just music, speed under my feet, and a sun straight ahead.

Well, this summer I discovered Turo: a car rental company that has over 1300 car models ranging from Toyota to Ferrari and everything in between. All you gotta do is choose, click to confirm, and sit back while the car gets delivered to your doorstep (or driveway, airport, train station, hotel… to be more precise!).

A super easy-to-use platform, their vision is to fuel drivers’ dreams of road-tripping across our beautiful Canadian landscape in the car of your choice. With a fleet of cars for any lifestyle, the Turo marketplace is killing it globally—with hosts in the UK, the US, and of course, our beloved Canada—bringing hosts and guests together to book cars wherever, whenever you want.

I took the opportunity to drive a BMW i8; a car I might not otherwise have ever had the chance to drive given that I have three kiddos. But, for a day out scouting new photo shoot back drops… why not!?

Car lovers the world over get to enjoy Turo as guests by renting the car they love for great prices. Meanwhile, hosts can build a scalable business from the ground up. With such innovation, they’ve managed to put millions of cars to use and offset 100% of their estimated global carbon emissions by investing in greenhouse gas-reducing projects.

I remember sitting on my waterfront chalet deck thinking to myself, when will we be able to travel again? And when we do, will it look the same as it always has? I never would’ve imagined such fresh new ways to escape the ordinary and hit the open road. Well done, Turo!
