Top 5 Lip Glosses

Imitating our moms, sisters, cooler, older friends – lip gloss has been polishing our looks since the time we could twist, pull and slide. The gateway makeup of every little girl who loves to play dress up, lip gloss will always be the simplest way to make any look shine.

I have a whole bunch of favourites when it comes to gloss. Open up any one of my drawers, or purses and there is always a gloss hanging around. I could go for clear, pink or a more saturated colour, but safe to say, I probably have a couple dozen lip glosses to choose from. Here are my top 5:

Charlotte Tilbury

The Charlotte Tilbury lip gloss is high shine, which means no matter the colour you choose, you’ll sparkle. I love the Refresh Rose, it has a delicate pink that matches my skin and hair, and whether I’m going for a laid back look or an intense glam style, a subtle pink is a natural way to boost the outfit. Charlotte Tilbury infuses her glosses with Marine Collagen for extra plump and volume while you wear (read about my obsession with CT here).

Too Faced

Lip Injection “Extreme”

Speaking of volumizing lip glosses, the Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme is gloss that not only increases the long-term plumping effects of your lips, but also nourishes and conditions along the way. Full and Pouty, I use the Too Faced on top of any makeup look just to get my lips tingling (I also love the Too Faced bronzer, read about it here).

Dior Lip Maximizer

The Dior Lip Maximizer has an instant va va va voom effect – glossing, plumping and hydrating all in one shot. Complete with hyaluronic acid, this lip gloss comes in 8 iconic colours and is the simplest way to keep your look natural. Dior suggests to pair with other lip shades, but whether you choose to wear it with colour or on its own, the Lip Maximizer is essential (read about more Dior lipsticks here).

Fenty Beauty

Pro Kiss’r Lip Balm “Hint Hint”

The Fenty beauty Pro Kiss’r Lip Balm came out with a universal sheen pink that is for real universal! It matches anyone’s skin tone and works as the perfect glide-on companion to any lipstick or bare lip. It’s creamy, it moisturizes and I love the package – rather than a hard tube, it’s a mix and match of a squeeze tube with sponge applicator. The Fenty Beauty Highlighter is also killer, read about it here.

Lancôme

L’Absolu Gloss “Rôsy Plump”

The Lancôme L’Absolu Gloss in Rôsy Plump is a satin finish gloss that hydrates and plumps, much like the other fantastic glosses I’ve mentioned here. But, what makes this one stand out is the yummy vanilla scent! It’s the perfect top coat or moisturizer for your lips.

What makes a gloss the right gloss for you? Well,  if you want step out of the 90s technology and move into 2020 with that sheen, sliding gloss that looks effortless and works to improve the texture of your lips, then any of the above are the right pick for you. No more of that sticky, my-hair-is-stuck-on-my-lips look, now it’s all about plump, hydration and an easy, sexy shine. Kissable lips every time! xo
