Top 5 Eye Creams

There are certain products I know are just superfluous, but I can’t eliminate them because I simply love the smell or the ritual of it all. Under-eye cream is no such product. I wish I had known earlier in life the incredible benefits of a great under-eye cream, because the truth is, the eyes are the porthole to our soul (not kidding!). There’s nothing like looking at someone’s eyes (or eye area) to tell exactly what kind of life they’ve had: tons of downward wrinkles… maybe too much crying? Tons of laugh lines: happy, go lucky? Well, the deep dark circles under my eyes reveal that I am tired, I have three kids, and I barely ever get a full night’s rest. Cat’s out of the bag – that’s my hard core truth.

Perhaps I could prevented the sunken pockets or avoided the purple-ish gray hue, but here we are, present tense, and it’s high time I get to task and lather up the under-eye area. I’ve been at it for a while now and have seen incredible results. A little hyaluronic acid here, a little collagen booster there, and voila! My eyes look ten years younger, and the mirror into my soul is now beaming with radiance and a happy glow! Woohoo! I’ve tried a whole bunch of eye creams so you don’t have to. Here are my top 5 eye care serums:

Confidence In an Eye Cream

IT Cosmetics

So the name kind of says it all – because if you’re going to put your trust in any company, you want their brand name to instil confidence, and that’s what Confidence In an Eye Cream by IT Cosmetics does. It’s your all-in-one eye care cream that brightens, repairs, and transforms with a simple touch (twice a day and in circular motions). It visibly corrects the colour of the skin as well as restoring firmness, reducing puffiness, and all that jazz. It’s got all the major buzzwords like avocado, caffeine, collagen, and hyaluronic acid. It hydrates and refreshes.

Signal Peptides Firming Eye Balm

Juice Beauty

Juice Beauty created Signal Peptides Firming Eye Balm and kind of cornered the market on the advanced science of eye care. Their cream is plant activated and formulated with certified organic ingredients. It helps the already delicate eye area from further skin damage and targets any visible sign of aging. It luminizes with micro minerals and smells like coconut! Nothing says relaxing more than the ultra-moisturizing tropical fruit.

AutoCorrect

Sunday Riley

The texture of the skin under the eyes changes over time. It loses elasticity, it starts to get droopy and if you don’t start with a good eye care regimen, your skin will sag past a point of return. The Sunday Riley Auto Correct Brightening and Depuffing Eye Contour Cream lifts that skin right up there. And, if you catch it in time, the dark circles, the puffiness and all that will get brighter and energize those tired eyes. Infused with caffeine and Brazilian ginseng root, I think this eye cream is probably one of the better ones out there. It works on young skin too, because it’ll give you a head start on what would otherwise inevitably happen.

Vos Yeux

L’Elixir des glaciers

Vos Yeux is the poly-active eye cream by L’Elixir des glaciers – it’s a full 360o moisturizing cream. It feels velvety and smooth to the touch and gives your eyes that rested look. Kind of exactly what I’m after – if I can’t sleep a full night, then at least I can look like I did! The Swiss really know what they’re doing because this cream gives an instant glow to that dull look I have in the morning. Makes me feel like it’s really working!

Ideal Eyes

IDC DERMO

The IDC Dermo Ideal Eyes is the cream that boasts maximum results, because on top of looking rested, Ideal Eyes is also infused with an anti-fatigue serum, which in layman’s terms means that it makes you look rested and actually makes you feel rested. It does all the same stuff as the other creams: tones, smoothes, energizes, and brightens, but this cream was designed for sensitive skin, so that delicate skin around the eyes won’t see further damage by using a cream that’s too strong for the area.

Nothing tells the world, “hey, I never sleep a full 8 hours!” like dark circles and puffiness under the eyes. I use my eye care cream religiously, morning and night. That, plus I also use moisturizers that are safe for the eye area, in case I accidentally double up on a layer of cream. Whether you’re tired, seeing the signs of aging take a toll on your skin, or you’re young and vibrant and want to stay that way… my pro tip: invest in some eye cream!
