Giving Thanks

There are so many reasons to give thanks. Even on those days when I don’t feel like I have the energy to get out of bed, I give into my gratitude practice and create new energy within.

For me, giving thanks isn’t just about taking stock of what I have and who I’m surrounded by. But today, when I take a step back to zoom out, I want to give special thanks to the generosity and abundance of our beautiful world.

I know, I know - it sounds so abstract. But if you take a close look and truly inspect and introspect, our Mother Earth is the reason we are here. Her beauty, her nature, her spirit gives us breath. The more in tune I am with that very belief, the more respect show, the more bountiful her gift is.

Generosity. Such a simple term we learn early on. Be generous. Share. One for you, one for me. But it’s bigger than that. It’s a way of being. Generosity can be as easy as a smile and as invisible as empathy. Being generous with your kindness and your heart - being the person who leads with benevolence rather than fear, blame, shame, and selfishness. That is what I am particularly thankful for.

Abundance - a mindset we can all use a little more of. In a world where everything has been said, everything has been done, abundance is the mindset I choose to lead with. There is space for us all. There is room for us all to succeed, for us all to find happiness. And you know? The more success we have, the more success we create for others. And so goes the halo effect. I’ve left competition and jealousy, envy and rivalry behind. I choose to thrive, with you, and you, and you…

That is what I am thankful for in this moment and that is the intention I choose to lead with going forward. Two easy words I choose to teach my children and share with all of you. Generosity and abundance. Who’s with me?
